Biography

I am Lambert and I joined as a post-doc in the Flexibel&Stretchable electronics group of Ronald Dekker. I was born in 1982 in Tilburg and raised in Bunde, a village near Maastricht. I graduated as a mechanical engineer from TUe in 2006, performing a research internship at EPFL nanoelectroncis lab and graduate porject at Philips Research. After graduation, I worked as a systems engineer in measurements and control for AppliedMicroElectronics BV and from 2009-2013 worked on a PhD-research project supervised by prof. Geers,(TU/e, Mechanics of materials) in collaboration with TDK-EPCOS. This resulted in the thesis "Anelasticity in Al-alloy thin films: an experimental analysis". Following my PhD up to december 2016, I was a post-doc researcher with prof Sue Gibbs at the Experimental Dermatology lab, VU University Medical center Amsterdam, collaborating with Ronald Dekker and Anja van de Stolpe at Philips Research. In that research project we developed organ-on-chip technology for skin-tissue engineering to enable better skin-cancer models for drug/biology research while reducing animal testing.

Curiosity drives my interest in science and engineering, which I apply to useful themes. I'm interested in developing novel systems and devices for biomedical applications, such as organs-on-chips and advanced catheter instruments, by building building upon my background in mechanical, electrical and microsystems engineering and biomedical experience. Collaborating in such diverse disciplines is a truly enriching experience.

Outside the professional sphere I enjoy dancing and music (from latin social dancing to jazz to all varieties of house music at raves and festivals to karaoke), sports (mountainbiking, bouldering, fitness, racketsports) and cooking and eating.
